Gardaí in Ballyshannon are keen to hear of any sightings of a black Volkswagen Golf with Northern Irish registration plates as part of an ongoing investigation into a weekend assault in Ballyshannon.
The incident happened at a premises in the Ballyshannon area on Saturday afternoon with the scene sealed off for a time.
It's believed that a man in his 40s sustained serious facial injuries during the altercation and was taken to Sligo University hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made at this time.
A car that Gardai are interested in tracing is believed to have travelled in the Ballyshannon/Beleek Road/Clyhore areas on Saturday the 6th of May between the hours of 11am and 2.30pm.
The car had a number of male occupants.
