Goretti Sheridan's appointment as Donegal's Chief Garda Superintendent has been confirmed today.
Garda Headquarters announced the appointment in their Appointments and Allocations list for February 2024.
Sheridan was previously Superintendent in Letterkenny, having also served in Sligo and in Castlerea.
The Rathmullan native will be the first locally-based Chief Superintendent since Donegal became a stand-alone Garda division last year.
