A Donegal TD is calling on the Government to ensure young children with cystic fibrosis are no longer deprived of a ground-breaking new drug.
Deputy Thomas Pringle raised the issue in the dail during questions on policy and legislation, after he met with families from his own constituency outside Leinster House as part of CF Ireland's Support the Kaf-trio 35 campaign.
There are currently 35 children in Ireland with Cystic Fibrosis being denied access to the drug, as a result of a dispute between the HSE and the provider, Vertex, over a pricing issue.
In response, the Taoiseach said the Government is anxious to see the matter sorted and said he will speak with the minister.
