Government urged to get tough on unscrupulous landlords

The Government has failed to get tough on unscrupulous landlords' and increased funding and resources to allow local councils increase their inspection on rental properties has to be provided as a matter of urgency

That's according to Sinn Féin general Election candidate Councillor Chris McManus who says the Department of Housing have provided only €36,650 to Sligo County Council so far in 2019 for such inspections, despite there being 5,675 registered tenancies in the county.'

Cllr McManus has questioned how serious the government are in tacking the issue.
