Government 'washing its hands' on defective block issue

The Housing Minister is being urged to meet with Donegal County Council and provide clarity as it relates to the defective block scheme.

A cross-party delegation of Councillors travelled to Dublin yesterday to demonstrate outside Government buildings in a stand for equality for affected homeowners.

The Government is facing ongoing accusations that the enhanced scheme does not provide 100% redress.

Speaking in the Dail last evening, Donegal Sinn Fein TD Padraig MacLochlainn says the Government is washing its hands of the issue and says Ministers must visit Donegal and Mayo and listen to the concerns on the ground:
