A Donegal Deputy has claimed that defective blocks are still being produced to this day.

It comes as a Sinn Fein motion, calling for the 10% concrete levy to be scrapped has been deferred until tonight.

The party argues that there are design flaws with the proposal currently on the table with levy deemed too high; too narrowly focused; and is a levy on products.

The Dail debated the motion last night, while the Government is set to table a counter-motion this evening in favour of the levy proposed in the Budget.
