A grant scheme to encourage more use of electric vehicles has been welcomed by a Sligo transport operator.
Under the scheme, €7,500 will be available for operators purchasing electric vehicles.
It's on top of existing incentives which include a €5,000 rebate on vehicle registration tax, a €3,800 grant from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland as well as an upcoming grant for installling a home charging point.
Feehily's Travel was the first in Sligo to introduce a hybrid vehicle.
It also recently added another hybrid vehicle to its executive fleet.
