Work on a new pedestrian crossing in Ballygawley is due to commence in the coming weeks.
€36,000 has been obtained under the Department of Transport through the Low Cost Safety Programme.
The crossing will be situated at Ballygawley Community Park and also includes plans for a section of new lighting.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh says it's an important safety measure for the village.
