Green Party to vote today on programme for government

The national coordinator of the Green Party has said it's too early to say yet whether the members of the party will accept the programme for government.

 

The party will stage a special convention today to vote on the details contained in the programme for government document which has been circulated members of the party as well as those of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.

The programme will require a two thirds majority from the Green Party to be successfully carried.

 

 

Neasa Hourigan, the Green Party's finance spokesperson, has said the deal does not do enough in terms of housing and deprivation.

Chairperson of the national executive of the Green party and former Sligo-Leitrim general election candidate Bláithín Gallagher says it's difficult to predict how the vote will go.
