The Students of Ursuline college in Sligo today took part in a cycle from the school which is based in Sligo Town to Strandhill.
The cycle was staged as part of the Green-Schools campaign 'andshecycles'
The initiative is aimed at encouraging young women - particularly teenagers to cycle while recognising and discussing the reasons why they feel that cycling is not for them.
Lisa McDaniel is a Green-Schools Travel Education Officer. She says it's vital to encourage more female students return to cycling.
