The Gurteen Playground and Reaction Group have announced that they have shut the community’s playground. The news comes after the facility has been in operation for only two years.
The news comes after the group confirmed that the playground is officially closed for foreseeable future until they can secure insurance.

The most recent quote the group from an insurance company was in the UK at a price of 20 thousand euro.

Local Fianna Fail Cllr Paul Taylor says insurance companies across the country are no longer covering outdoor recreational facilities of the sort unless they owned by the council.
