An infectious disease expert's warning further deaths from Covid-19 are 'inevitable' as case numbers continue to rise.
In the latest set of Covid-19 figures released by health official's yesterday evening there were 138 new cases were reported nationally with Donegal and Leitrim shares 24 cases with 12 other counties.
The number of cases in Donegal now stands at 545, in Sligo it's 158 and in Leitrim the number has risen to 89.
Yesterday's figures also confirmed 5 cases being added to Donegal in county breakdown, 2 to Leitrim and 1 to Sligo. These cases were initially flagged on Saturday.
No additional deaths were reported yesterday.
Professor Sam McConkey from the Royal College of Surgeons says it's clear the death toll will rise.
