Helipad at Letterkenny Hospital cleared for use

The helipad at Letterkenny University Hospital has been cleared for use again.

This week it emerged that Rescue 118 had been landing over three kilometres away from the hospital due to health and safety concerns with the helipad.

Patients would then be transferred via ambulance into the Emergency Department.

The HSE has since confirmed that the landing restriction which had been placed on the helipad has now been lifted.
