High numbers on trolleys in north west

There are exceptionally high numbers on trolleys at hospitals across the west and north west today.

The number of people waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital is now 32.

There are 33 people waiting on trolleys in the emergency department and on wards at University Hospital Galway.

There are 9 people waiting for admission at Sligo University Hospital and 9 waiting at Mayo General Hospital.

The numbers waiting in Letterkenny are now on a par with many hospital in bigger urban centres such as Galway, Cork and Dublin according to these latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
