HIQA to carry out review of gynaecology services at Letterkenny University Hospital

The health watchdog HIQA is to carry out a review of gynaecology services as Letterkenny University Hospital.

This assessment is to be done to ensure recommendation from a previous report have been carried out, which found 'errors and delays' in cancer diagnoses at the facility.

The HSE review published last summer showed some women were not given follow-up appointments.

Concerns were first raised around the hospital's services were raised in 2018.

HIQA is to publish its findings later this year.
