Hopes new public health areas will have far reaching benefits for North West

It's hoped that the designation of new public health areas will have far reaching benefits for the North West.

Six new areas have been established nationwide, paving the way for the Sláintecare Regional Health Areas.

This also marks the appointment of five Area Directors of Public Health at medical consultant grade, with the sixth expected to commence in the coming weeks.

Over time, its anticipated that the move will have a significant impact on people's health and the health service.
