Horse racing industry gets more Government funding than Sligo County Council

It's estimated that the Greyhound and Horse racing industry are getting more Government funding than Sligo County Council.

It has led to calls for the money given to the industries to be spent on the likes of housing, healthcare and other local issues.

The matter is set to be raised at today's sitting of Sligo County Council.

People Before Profit Cllr Gino O'Boyle says the Government must stop handing over public money to them and says it's nothing short of a disgrace:
