Hotel, restaurant in County Donegal close temporarily after staff members test positive for Covid-19

A hotel and a restaurant in County Donegal have temporarily closed because of staff members having tested positive for Covid-19.

The Quay West Restaurant in Donegal Town says the health and safety of its team and guests have been its No. 1 priority and that it had worked tirelessly and diligently since reopening on July 1st to ensure a safe environment for all in line with the various guidelines.

However, it says that despite having very stringent procedures and policies in place, a member of its team had tested positive for Covid-19.

The restaurant says it is temporarily closing while awaiting further guidance.

Meanwhile, the Highlands Hotel in Glenties has also announced its temporarily closing after one of its staff tested positive.

It too said it had always followed public health guidelines and will continue to do so in consultation with the HSE and local GPs.

It hopes to reopen in a day or two.
