Two housing developments were officially opened by Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien today.
The developments, the Lahard Estate in Balliinamore and the Carraig Breac estate in Drumshanbo see the opening of 10 and 18 houses respectively.
The houses in Drumshanbo were delivered under a number of phases by turn-key arrangement to a previously unfinished estate.
Minister of O’Brien was joined on the day by Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Justin Warnock, local TDs and Senators, the Interim Chief Executive Joseph Gilhooly and Mary Quinn, Director of Services and the Housing Team.
The delivery of the homes was made possible by a total capital investment by the Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government of €6.3 million to address the social housing need in county Leitrim.
