The HSE has confirmed that a new community nursing unit at The Sheil Hospital in Ballyshannon is expected to be completed in two years time.
The tender for the new South Donegal community nursing unit at The Sheil Hospital was issued to contractors last week.
In response to a parliamentary question to the health minister from Sligo/Leitrim TD Tony McLoughlin, the HSE's head of estates Jim Curran says that subject to approval of the tender, it is intended to start construction later this year, with completion due in early 2021.
