There are calls on the HSE in the North West to take specific steps ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend to avoid overcrowding.
It comes as there were almost 90 people awaiting admission to the two main North West hospitals this morning - 39 in Sligo and 48 in Letterkenny, 582 waiting nationally.
In a meeting with senior HSE management late last week, the INMO set out a number of actions that can be taken this weekend to alleviate pressure next week.
