HSE says uptake in HPV vaccine increased this year

The HSE says the uptake in the HPV vaccine increased last year.

It's launching a campaign today to make sure as many girls as possible are protected from cervical cancer.

Nearly two thirds of girls have been vaccinated so far this year - but only half got it last year after misinformation was spread about the vaccine's safety.

Dr Brenda Corcoran from the HSE's National Immunisation Office says it's important people are aware of the facts:
