Sligo Labour Party rep says hybrid model the only fair option for Leaving Cert

A Sligo/Leitrim Labour Party representative is calling on the government to immediately start planning for a hybrid Leaving Certificate so as to provide clarity and certainty for students.

Former election candidate Nessa Cosgrove says a survey by the Irish Second-Level Students' Union showed two-thirds of exam students support a hybrid model.

Nessa Cosgrove says there was a hybrid Leaving Certificate last year, adding that it would be 'wrong-headed' for the Minister to go back to 'normal' given the education experience for students has been  negatively impacted by the pandemic.
