Fianna Fáil to select a candidate for local elections in Sligo-Drumcliff

The Fianna Fáil convention for the Sligo-Drumcliffe MD will take place later this evening.

The event which will select a candidate to run on behalf of the party will get underway at the Southern Hotel at 7pm with up 60 signed up party members eligible to vote on the night.

Sitting Councillor Donal Gilroy will be challenged by Edel MacSharry and Colm McGauran.

Only one candidate will be selected at this evening’s convention however there is a chance that party HQ could select a second at a later date.
