IFA call for increases in factory prices for cattle and sheep

The IFA are calling for factory prices to be increased for both cattle and sheep with immediate effect.

Recent market reports are showing that Farmers are securing a base price of €3.80/kg for steers and €3.90/kg for heifers, however factory prices are falling well below these figures.

Leitrim Farmer and the Vice Chairman of the IFA National Sheep Committee Kevin Comiskey says that Factories currently have too strong of a monopoly on the market.
