The President of the Irish Farmers Association Joe Healy has been in county Leitrim today to see first hand how the weather and fodder crisis is impacting farmers.

A number of farming organisations are now increasing pressure on the Agriculture Minister Michael Creed to recognise the hardship of farmers in the North West.

Both the IFA and the INHFA are holding meetings on this issue this coming Friday.

The INHFA is meeting in the Sligo Southern Hotel while the IFA are holding their meeting at the McWilliam Hotel in Claremorris.
