The importance of industry and manufacturing for employment in the north west has been highlighted in a new report from the Western Development Commission.
56% of Sligo's total industry employment is in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and medical technology sector, the second highest in the country.
Meanwhile, there's been more than a 21% growth in industry employment in Leitrim while agri-food is Donegal's largest industry sector.
Policy analyst with the Western Development Commission Pauline White says the report highlights the importance, when it comes to creating jobs in the region, of giving manufacturing companies what they need.
