The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling for a special scheme for healthcare workers suffering from long covid.
The union is having the first day of its annual conference in Sligo today.

It wants recognition and rewards for the work nurses and midwives do across the health service.
The INMO says staff suffering from long covid need to be protected and helped if their mental and physical health was affected by the Covid pandemic.
