Investigation continuing into discovery of whale on south Donegal beach

An investigation is continuing into the discovery of a large sperm whale washed up on a beach in south Donegal.

The mammal came ashore on Saturday evening at the 'Big Beach' at Glencolmcille.

The Irish Dolphin and Whale Group has been notified of the incident and efforts to determine how the whale came to be there are ongoing.

It's not yet known what will happen to the creature.

Beachgoers are also being advised to stay away from the remains.
