Investigation continuing into suspected stabbing in Sligo

An investigation is continuing into a suspected stabbing incident in Sligo.

It happened at a premises in St. Annes Terrace in the early hours of Saturday morning last.

Gardaí attended the scene after reports that a man was assaulted by another man.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene was preserved to facilitate a technical examination by the Scenes of Crime Unit.

Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
