Investigation continuing into weekend stabbing incident in Sligo

An investigation is continuing into a suspected stabbing incident in Sligo.

It happened on Upper New Street on Saturday evening last at around 5.45pm.

Emergency services attended the scene.

In a statement, Gardai say that a man, aged in his 20s, received an apparent stab wound and was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment to injuries which are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Gardai say that investigations are ongoing.
