An investigation is continuing over reports of a man carrying a suspected firearm in Sligo last night.
The suspect is believed to have knocked on a number of doors in the Glen Carrick area of the town while also being in possession of a gun.
His attempts to gain entry to a number of homes are believed to have been unsuccessful.
Gardai have confirmed that they have received a report of an incident at a residential property in Sligo at 11pm last night.

They say that investigations are ongoing and that no further information is available at this stage.
Its not yet known if any arrests have been made.
