Investigation launched after woman's body is discovered in Ballymote

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body of a woman in her 70s at a property in Ballymote, Co. Sligo.

The body was discovered at approximately 2pm yesterday (Sunday 24th April 2022).

Her body has  been removed to  Sligo University Hospital.

Gardaí say the results of a post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
