The water supply to about 200 houses in part of Ballymote, Co Sligo, is affected by a leak in the system.
It's interrupted supply in the Carrownanty area as well as a number of estates, including Cuan Iosa, Castle Grove and Tower Hill.
Ballymote-based Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon says Irish Water hopes to have the problem fixed by about 5 o'clock this evening.
