IT Sligo is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with special events taking place every month throughout the year.
Since the foundation of the Institute in 1970, it has progressed from being a Regional Technical College with 100 students and 10 graduates at apprenticeship and Certificate level to being an Institute of Technology with 7,500 students, with graduates across all levels.
In that time, the IT has become one of Ireland’s leading Institutes of Technology.
The anniversary is also being marked by the publication of a new book, the editor of which is IT librarian Jim Foran.
