IT Sligo's increasing college place offers reflects ambition to achieve university status

IT Sligo has seen strong growth in demand for its engineering courses and some new art-related programmes.

The institute has offered college places to over 3000 students in this year's round one offers out today.

Student Affairs Manager at the IT Gerry Hegarty says that's an increase of about 250 place on last year.

Speaking to Ocean FM News today, he said there's been a strong interest in new programmes on offer and in their well established engineering courses:

Mr. Hegarty says that the increase in the numbers being offered by IT Sligo reflect its ambition to develop and achieve university status in the coming months:
