'Joined up approach needed' to solve south Sligo childcare issue

There are hopes that both Sligo County Council and Sligo Childcare Committee will consider setting up their own community childcare service for school aged children.

It's after a situation has arisen in a childcare facility in south Sligo which may result in only one provider serving the entire area from the end of June.

It's said to be down to cutbacks and there have been calls for an urgent intervention.
