53 vacant pubs will now be developed for housing.
Of these, just four are located in the North West with none in the pipeline for Sligo.
Figures from the Department of Housing show they will provide a total of 169 homes.
Minister Darragh O'Brien says in recent years, towns and villages have regrettably seen pubs close their doors for the last time.
Pubs were last year included in the list of vacant commercial premises that would be exempt from planning permission to convert into homes.
In Leitrim, there were six commercial premises notified to Leitrim County Council. Of these, just one of the owners notified the local authority of their intention to use the planning permission exemption to turn it into a residential dwelling.
A total of eleven homes have been created in Leitrim since the scheme began in 2018.
In Sligo three former pubs were notified to Sligo County Council however none of these premises progressed to the next stage. There have been a total of 32 homes created in Sligo under the scheme so far.
In Donegal, eleven commercial premises were notified to Donegal County Council for developments of this type. Of these, the owners of three former pubs notified the local authority of their intention to use the planning permission exemption to create five residential units.
41 homes in Donegal have been created under the scheme since 2018.
