Justice Minister committed to providing additional funding to Sligo Garda Station

Minister for Justice, Simon Harris, has committed to the provision of funding to assist with the development of Sligo Garda Station, but that the decision on an armed response unit based in the North West ultimately lies with the Garda Commissioner.

Minister Harris visited Sligo Garda Station yesterday, and said that the government wants to make sure that the station receives adequate funding and development.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Minister Harris also praised Gardaí based in Sligo, highlighting that the amount of burglaries in Sligo has decreased significantly.
