The Kerry senior football captain David Clifford used his acceptance speech after Sunday's Allianz Football League Division 1 victory over Mayo to remember Sligo footballer Red Óg Murphy, who passed away on Friday at the age of 21.
Clifford and Murphy played against each other in this season's Sigerson Cup - and both players were named on the competition's Team of the Year earlier this month.
After accepting the National League trophy at Croke Park alongside joint-captain Joe O'Connor, Clifford used the opportunity to offer his and Kerry's condolences to the family of Red Óg Murphy in Sligo.
