Latest poll shows drop in Fine Gael support

Ahead of Friday’s General Election, a poll has shown a decrease in support for Fine Gael.

 

The latest Sunday Independent/ Ireland Thinks opinion poll shows Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin are all broadly on the same level of support heading into the final days of the campaign.

The poll was conducted online with respondents were recruited via random sampling.

 

Then, from approximately 5,000 responses 1,420 are selected and weighed.

A rise in support for Sinn Féin, Independents and Aontú is also reported in the poll.

 

Fine Gael: 22% (- 4)

Sinn Féin: 20% (+2)

Fianna Fáil: 20% (no change)

Independents (includes Independent Ireland): 19% (+3)

Aontú: 5% (+2)

Social Democrats: 5% (-1)

Labour Party: 4% (no change)

Green Party: 3% (-1)

Solidarity-People Before Profit: 2% (no change)

 

The margin of error in this poll is plus or minus 2.3%.
