Calls have been made of the Cathaoirleach of Leitrim Council, Cllr Enda McGloin not to attend an upcoming commemoration event for the RIC and Dublin Metropolitan Police.
The request was made at yesterday's monthly meeting of Leitrim County Council by Fianna Fail Councillor, Mary Bohan.
In recent days several politicians have voiced their objections to the celebration, with many pointing to the organisations involvement with the Black and Tans.

Cllr Bohan says the history of the Black and tans is well documented in Leitrim and any attempts commentate them is wrong.
