Leitrim Council need to tackle homeless crisis

The local authority in Leitrim is being urged to devise a strategy that will immediately address the number of people that are homeless across the County.

Although the numbers are small compared to other counties it's believed that there are a number of individuals and families that are classed as 'homeless' in the Manorhamilton, Carrick-on-Shannon and Ballinamore Municipal Districts.

Manorhamilton Municipal Councillor Sean McDermott is requesting the Council to outline how they intend to address the situation.

Speaking to Ocean FM Cllr McDermott says a clear and effective plan is now needed.
