A Leitrim councillor says the traffic situation in Drumshanbo is impacting negatively on the town's economic life.
Cllr Enda McGloin said there is “still a traffic hazard in Drumshanbo” that has not been solved.
The Drumshanbo-based councillor says the outstanding parking issue in Drumshanbo at Convent Avenue needs to be addressed.
The council says the road should be one-way and while a ring road would be preferable around Drumshanbo, it is not in the plans and that bollards will be constructed opposite Gala Shop, Drumshanbo due to illegal parking.
Cllr McGloin say the council needs to take action but stopped short of requesting for a one-way system to be introduced.
