Leitrim Councillor urges landowners to grow food

A Leitrim Councillor has issued a call to all farmers, rural dwellers and everybody who has access to a piece of land to start growing potatoes and other vegetables to minimise any food shortages which could arise

The calls have been made by Manorhamilton MD Councillor Justin Warnock and were discussed at yesterday's monthly meeting of Councillors from the Manorhamilton district of Leitrim County Council.

Cllr Warnock says it's time that landowners were self-sufficient when it comes to producing food.
