Leitrim has the highest Covid-19 rate in the country

Co. Leitrim has the highest rate of Covid-19 in the country while Co. Roscommon has the lowest.

Ireland's 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 now stands at 1,211 cases per 100,000 people while a month ago, it was less than 500.

Leitrim's rate now stands at 1,691; the highest in the country, followed by Louth, with 1,631.

23 counties now have rates of over 1,000 including Sligo on 1,236 and Donegal with a rate of 1,219.

By comparison, the lowest rate in Ireland is Roscommon with a figure of 882 infections per 100,000 population.
