Leitrim was only one of three counties which recorded an increase in the number of people on the Live Register last year.
Nationally, there was a slight drop in the number of people singing on in December of last year.
There were 173,900 people on the seasonally adjusted register, down 500 from November.
However, three counties saw an increase in the twelve months to December 2023.
Meath recorded the biggest increase at five-point-six per cent, with Laois up by one-point-one per cent, and Leitrim up by one per cent.
