Leitrim is the second least expensive county in the country in which to buy a house.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office show the average price for a house in Leitrim is €95,030.
Only County Longford is cheaper, at €87,584.
Donegal is the fourth cheapest place to buy a house, where the average price is €112,729.
Slightly more expensive are houses in Cavan where the average price is €115,767.
Sligo is the eighth cheapest county to buy -- the price here is €124,639.
The most expensive areas are, as expected, along the east coast and in Cork and Galway.
Overall, prices were up almost 11% compared to last year with the largest rises outside Dublin.
Experts say lack of supply and lack of competition in the lending market will cause prices to keep rising.
