Letterkenny University Hospital is the second most overcrowded hospital in the country today.
It has 40 patients waiting for beds, made up of six in the emergency department and 34 in wards and elsewhere.
Only University Hospital Limerick is more overcrowded, with 49 people waiting for beds.
In Sligo University Hospital, there are 19 people waiting, 10 in the emergency department and nine in wards.

Overall throughout the country today, there are 394 people in hospitals waiting for beds, 11 of whom are under the age of 16.
