Lift on eviction ban will mean extra pressure on Council - O'Boyle

A Sligo councillor is expressing concern this morning with the extra pressure that will be placed on local authorities to provide accommodation for families and individuals that could be facing eviction in the future.

 

The eviction ban will end on the 31st of March with evictions returning on a phased basis depending on when someone was issued with a notice to quit.

Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien is indicating that authority will also be given a target to acquire social housing where people on HAP or RAS supports are being evicted so a landlord can sell the home.
